How To Make Easy & Delicious Seared Pork In Green Salsa

This is another one of my mother-in-law’s recipes. It is authentic and super easy to make. It is also an offshoot from our green salsa recipe. The best thing about this recipe is that you only need pork meat and green salsa. If your salsa is seasoned well, you will not need to add anything else to this recipe. You can accompany this dish with Mexican rice, beans, and tortillas. It is full of flavor, and your family and friends are sure to love it!

Important Information:

Course: Entree

Cuisine: Mexican – Tex Mex

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Time: 35 minutes

Servings: 4

Prepping:

· Pre-measure your ingredients.

· Prepare your green salsa. Refer to our green salsa recipe on our blog.

· Wash, dry, and chop your pork meat into 1-inch cubes.

Ingredients: This recipe is so easy to make. For this recipe, you will need:

· 2 cups of green salsa

· 1 ½ pounds of pork meat

· 2 tbsp of lard

· 2 tsp salt or to taste

· 2 tbsp flour or cornstarch

· 1 tsp garlic

. 1 tbsp onion powder

Instructions:

1. Using a medium to high flame, place the 2 tbsp of lard in a large pot and allow it to melt.

2. Once the pan is hot, place the pork meat in the pan and sear it until it is a dark golden brown color. It will take approximately 15 minutes.

3. After the meat has reached a golden brown color, add the flour or cornstarch and mix it well. The flour will thicken the salsa and make it into a gravy consistency.

4. Then, add the garlic and onion powder and stir well.

5. Next, add your salsa and continue to stir. Set the flame on low and let the mixture simmer for another 10 minutes; at this point, taste for salt. Add according to taste.

Topper Tips:

1. Prepare the salsa a day ahead. Doing this will save you so much time! I keep homemade salsa in the fridge all the time. It helps when making spur-of-the-moment meals just like this one.

2. Sear your pork until golden brown. It will soften up when you add the salsa.

3. You can use a small amount of oil to substitute the lard.
